The Newtown Bee's Sports Editor, Kim J. Harmon, 45, died suddenly on Sunday, December 15, 2007. As a member of the Newtown Sandy Hook Vintage Base Ball team from its inception in 2005, Kim was instrumental in giving Newtown Sandy Hook founder Ray Shaw the confidence to build a vintage team in Newtown. Kim was a playing member and actively promoted the Game to the community and sportsmen everywhere.

The Kim Harmon Family Scholarship Fund has been set-up in his behalf. The Newtown Sandy Hooks will dedicate the 2008 season to Kim and will make every effort to support this worthy cause.
