The Newtown Sandy Hook Vintage Base Ball Club in partnership
with Newtown Savings Bank, The Newtown Bee, Newtown Parks &
Recreation, the American Heart Association announces the launch
of a fund raising program for the Harmon Family Fund and the
American Heart Association. This summer long program will be
run in conjunction with 'Hearts for Harmon' to benefit the family
of Kim Harmon who passed away suddenly in November of 2007.
The concept of the program is to pledge a set amount of money
for every run scored by the Newtown Sandy Hook Vintage Base Ball
Club through the duration of the current baseball season. At
the end of the season all pledged donations will be collected
and paid sponsors will become eligible for a prize drawing.
50% of all proceeds from 'Hits for Harmon' will be donated
directly to the Harmon Family Fund with 50% going to the American
Heart Association.
This site will report on the progress of the team as well
total runs scored and special events related to the fund raising
effort.
Anyone wishing to sponsor this event or make a donation to
'Hits for Harmon' are asked to contact the Newtown Bee to request
